Wednesday night's sketch...
My second meeting with the Patchogue Sketch Club
We met at Lakeview Cemetary on the corner of Waverly Ave. & West Main Street - County Road 85 (Merrick Road for all you Nassau County people).
This was my very first time sketching in a cemetary - actually the first time I've ever been inside a cemetary where I wasn't burying or visiting someone. I made the mistake of reading about the cemetary before I went late at night last week and scared myself but luckily the evening was uneventful and I did not see Whistling Sam or any other paranormal activity.
It was also my first time using a Micron Pen - I bought a set of them at A.C. Moore the other day with a 51% OFF coupon. They are very good pens - the ink flow is very consistent and the tip seems pretty durable.
Here is a sketch I did of a statue of an angel.
8" x 10" graphite pencil, watercolor pencil, colored pencil and ink on paper (09/15/2010)
